b2,inc. has served as PR partner for Clean Energy Collective, North America's leading community solar developer, since the company’s launch in 2010. Among several objectives driving our mission for CEC is generating opportunities that establish and recognize CEC’s subject expertise and industry leadership, principally among high-value target audiences. Our strategy includes seeking out and obtaining speaking/presentation roles for CEC executives at key industry conferences, tradeshows, and events, and identifying and crafting submissions for high-profile industry and related awards.

CERAWeek is a premier energy conference organized by IHS Markit that brings together senior-level executives from energy, policy, technology, and finance to discuss the issues and innovations driving the energy industry. b2,inc. conducted a long-term, focused effort with the event organizers that resulted in CEC being selection as an Energy Innovation Pioneer, a prestigious accolade recognizing companies and entrepreneurs involved in making noteworthy innovations throughout the energy spectrum. CEC was chosen from a field of more than 500 companies for its unique technology and service solutions enabling cost-effective community solar program design, integration, and management.

Along with the public relations value of this recognition, the award provided CEC’s CEO the opportunity to engage CERAWeek attendees through a presentation to delegates about the company and its technology, a panel session on commercializing and scaling the technology, and networking sessions with a wide range of companies active in its space.

In addition to spearheading the award application, b2,inc. provided CEC a comprehensive mix of support that included:

  • Pre-event promotion via press release and social media amplification

  • Coordination of on-site media interviews

  • Design and production of the CEO’s company presentation (PowerPoint)

  • Creation of a detailed CEO ‘Briefing Book’

  • Post-event media outreach and coordination

  • Amplification of event-owned media and press activity

The resulting benefits generated from this recognition were substantial. The media impressions generated number in the millions (and still growing); it broadened awareness of CEC’s brand and appreciation for its market leadership; and provided in-person access to high-value audiences, spawning new channel and customer relationships.
